The history of the house dates back to the 17th century, when the Hattler family first opened an inn here. In 1935, the grandfather of the current owner bought the property together with his brother and ran it as “Gasthof und Pension zur Post”. The family business also included a transport and bus/taxi company. In the post-war period, the building was extended and fitted with new balconies. The next generation took over in 1965. By this time, the name of the inn had already been changed to “Dolomitenhof”.

From the 1990s onwards, repeated investments were made in the furnishings and expansion of the inn: The construction of two new dining rooms on the first floor (1992/1993) was followed in 2000 by the extension of the third floor including the installation of a lift, in 2004/2005 an extension with a garage, two new vacation apartments and four new rooms and in 2006 the installation of a new canteen kitchen. At the same time as the larger construction measures, individual guest rooms were repeatedly brought up to date.

Helene Ebner has been running the “Dolomitenhof” for seven years now. In 2018, she also decided to subject the hotel to another major general renovation. With the start of construction in March 2019, six rooms on the east and west sides were fitted with a balcony and the entire upper part of the building was thermally insulated. All balconies and windows of the “Dolomitenhof” were renewed and the façade, including the lettering, was redesigned. It was particularly important to Helene Ebner that the character of the original “Bauerngasthof” was retained. With the use of a lot of larch wood and the inclusion of traditional details reminiscent of harps, this was achieved in the best possible way. Inside, the construction work included the modernization of further rooms, including new electrical wiring as well as heating and sanitary installations, supplemented by new floors and the partial replacement of the furnishings.
